What is Streaming Video?

VideoAktiv

  • Funding programme and duration
The project that ran from October 1, 2004 to December 31, 2006 was granted by the European Commission under the Socrates/Minerva programme.

  • Main activities
    VideoAktiv helps HE practitioners:
    • Develop and use effective audiovisual resources
    • Through workshops and 'good practice' case studies
    • Supported by an international community of practitioners

  • Available outputs
    The outputs include:

Workshops: A series of 20 workshops have been developed. These introduce the basics of video and audio creation for educational purposes. The aim is to support the participant to acquire the basic skills, subject jargon and process understanding to be able to initiate their own video and audio projects.

Virtual workshops: The objective of the virtual workshops is to disseminate more widely the staff development programme and to generate a greater impact on visual literacy awareness. Each of the partners has placed (or will place in the near future) the contents of the workshop they delivered online. The format of each of these Virtual Workshops reflects the way the partner thinks is most suitable for its target groups. The Virtual Workshops therefore are also a collection of different approaches in presenting online study material.

Community: Set-up of community where participants can discuss issues and experiences with media in education, with colleagues, peers and members of the VideoAktiv partnership, in four languages of the VideoAktiv online community: English, French, Dutch and Spanish.

Case-study repository: A common shared repository of case studies has been developed by workshop participants.
