Ovide - 'Online Video in Digital Environments for Teacher Education'
- Funding programme and duration
The Ovide project is supported by the European Commissions’ Minerva Programme. The project started in October 2005 and runs for three years.
- Objectives
The project seeks to:
- Provide a comprehensive overview of current practice through a study of existing national and international literature.
- Produce a collection of case studies of digital video and audio in use in teacher education in all the main areas of its possible
- Establish some generic principles of operation, where possible relating them to learning theories
- Identify the practical and technical issues pertaining to the use of digital video and audio.
- Highlight particular specialist expertise in the group and to trial it in other national settings with regard to educational and cultural differences.

Teacher educators throughout Europe
- Main activities
The main activities are to collect good practices of use of online video in teacher education. Furthermore information about copyright and ethical issues and about recording of video in classrooms is collected and provided to teacher educators.
